(via providencejournal.com) — The great jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald, sometimes known as The First Lady of Song, would have been 100 years old in April.
Rhode Island’s Cheryl Albright, with help from some musical friends, is celebrating a bit early with a show called “Ella 100!” at the URI Providence campus on Sunday. Music starts at 4 p.m., which Albright notes is well before Super Bowl kickoff at 6:30 p.m.
